Money is undermining direct democracy'
in campaign financing


A recent report by the Council of Europe’s Group of States against corruption (GRECO) says Swiss politics are a rare exception in Europe—for their lack of transparency in the way campaigns are funded. So should Swiss political financing be less secretive? Or is the current system, where privacy is protected, more in keeping with Swiss values? To discuss the question, WRS’s Dave Goodman moderates a debate with two members of the National Council—both from Zurich. Andreas Gross is a Social Democrat, and Hans Fehr represents the Swiss People’s Party.
